The Nueva Sal Bridge Re-Design Challenge
Nueva Sal is known for its beautiful and impressive designs. Buildings, bridges, parks, and structures around the city have won numerous national and international design awards. The Nueva Sal Bridge is the ceremonial (and often functional) gateway to the city, as it is the iconic entryway first seen by people arriving in the city. Charrette participants were to submit a design for a bridge that is stronger and more efficient than the old one, while preserving the existing roadway and abutments.
