The Salvadori Center held its Annual Student Design Charrette (an all-day design challenge) for public school students who participated in Salvadori’s in-school residencies on Friday, June 6, 2014.
The 2014 full-day event featured 100 Salvadori Students. Each team used math and science concepts to design durable structures, at least 27 inches high, made from a limited amount of material. Their goal was to design a structure that could withstand extreme lateral wind forces found in nature. At the end of the event, each team’s model was tested in a wind tunnel.
